Dreamweaver Terriers, located in Burtonsville, Maryland, is owned by Al Ferruggiaro who has over 50 years’ experience breeding and showing purebred dogs.

Al’s interest in purebred dogs began as a teenager by competing in Junior Showmanship. His interest continued into adulthood with breeding AKC Champion Lakeland and Norwich Terriers.

His first Lakeland Terrier, Ch Sujawes Dreamweaver, a daughter of Ch Special Edition, was his first owner-handled Champion. She is the matriarch of the Dreamweaver line of Lakeland Terriers, including the top-winning Ch Dreamweaver Thrill Seeker.

Al’s line of Norwich Terrier Champions is based on Devondale, Skyscot and Castle-Bar. Among the Champions he bred are the top Champion-producing Norwich Terrier sires, Ch Dreamweaver Five O’clock Shadow and Ch Dreamweaver Up the Ante @ Coventry.

Al is a Past-President of the Norwich Terrier Club of America and the United States Lakeland Terrier Club and serves as Show Chair for an all-terrier show and two all- breed shows. He recently returned as an AKC Delegate.

The AKC has approved Al to judge all terrier breeds as well as an additional 100+ breeds and Best in Show. He judges terriers regularly throughout the US including the Westminster Kennel Club, Morris & Essex, AKC National Championship, and 6 times at the Montgomery County All-Terrier show. He has judged the Lakeland Terrier National Specialties of the US, Canada, and the UK and at all-breed shows in Australia, Canada, China, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, and the UK.
